Hammies Trail Run at the Hoover Met, where Henry had a strong finish in the 5-miler and Oliver had a strong finish in the one-mile fun run (I somehow managed to win the 10-miler).

Crewed (with Henry) Wesley as he ran to a third place finish during the 2021 Pinhoti 100 Mile Trail Race in the southern Appalachian Mountains of the Talladega National Forest.

26.2 miles (approximately) on steep and technical trails during the Mystery Mountain Marathon in Fort Mountain State Park, GA.

Thirteen-miles running on the Appalachian Trail from Sam’s Gap to the summit of Big Bald (5,516′) and back, followed by some hiking on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in Asheville later in the week.

Several long trail runs and family hikes over the weekend on the Pinhoti Trail between Dugger Mountain and Oakey Mountain, near the Chief Ladega trail in Piedmont, AL.

Out-and-back family hike from North Trailhead to Eagle’s Nest Overlook, followed by a short run along the yellow trail to meet up with everyone at the BMX Track.

From Thompson trailhead, family hike on trail 206 before family headed back and I continued for a longer out-and-back run (past the waterfall) with the creek on one side and canyon walls on the other.

From Cheaha trailhead, family hike south on Pinhoti Trail before family headed back and I continued, running the loop back to the trailhead via Cave Creek Trail.

First visit to Little River Canyon National Preserve, which appears to have plenty of backcountry roads and trails worth exploring in the future.
